EN-GJS-450-10 Ductile Iron
Chemical Composition, Physical Properties
EN-GJS-450-10 is an excellent ductile iron (SG iron) material grade. It has relatively high tensile strength, high elongation and good impact resistance. Widely used in industrial fields
Our foundry has been producing this material grade, and our product quality is reliable. The following is the information of ductile iron
- Chemical composition of ductile iron, ductile iron GJS-450
According to all international material standards and based on our experience, the chemical composition of ductile iron GJS-450 should be roughly below: Carbon (C): 3.5~4.0%
Silicon (Si): 2.2~2.9%
Manganese (Mn): 0.3~0.6%
Sulfur (S): 0.02~0.04%
Phosphorus (P): 0.03~0.060%
Magnesium (Mg): 0.029~0.062%
Rhenium (Re): 0.032~0.047% - Mechanical and physical properties of ductile iron GJS-450
Tensile strength ≥ 450MPa. Yield strength ≥ 310MPa. Elongation ≥ 10%.
The normal hardness range of GJS-450 should be 160 – 210 BH (Brinell hardness). - Main uses of ductile iron GJS-450
Due to its high elongation, GJS-450 ductile iron can be used to produce impact-resistant castings. It has good low-temperature impact resistance and high hardness, and is used to produce plow blades, plow furrows, plow piles, differential housings, valve bodies and high-pressure cylinders, etc.
The following are some of the ductile iron castings we produce.
