The production process of Jiangsu Shengrong cast iron pulley is as follows

1. Design and mold preparation
Drawing design: Design the size, groove type (such as V-type, multi-wedge groove, etc.) and structure of the pulley according to the use requirements (such as transmission power, speed, installation size, etc.).
Mold making: Make wooden molds, metal molds or lost foam molds for sand casting (selected according to the casting process), or prepare metal molds for die casting.
2. Casting process
(1) Melting
Raw material preparation: Use gray cast iron (HT150, HT200, etc.) or ductile iron (QT500-7, etc.), and mix scrap steel, pig iron, and recycled materials in proportion.
Melting: Melt into molten iron in a cupola or electric furnace and control the temperature (about 1400-1500℃).
Composition adjustment: Add alloy elements (such as carbon, silicon, manganese)
(2) Pouring
Sand casting:
Molding: Use a wooden mold to make a cavity in a sand box (wet sand, resin sand, etc.).
Combining the boxes: Align the upper and lower sand boxes to form a complete cavity.
Pouring: Pour molten iron into the cavity, paying attention to controlling the flow rate to avoid air holes.
Other processes: Lost foam casting can be used for small batches, and metal mold casting may be used for large batches.
(3) Cooling and cleaning
After cooling, unpack the boxes, remove the pouring head, flash, burrs, and sandblast or shot blast to clean the surface sand.
3. Machining
Turning: Use a lathe to process the inner hole, end face and outer circle of the wheel hub to ensure dimensional accuracy and concentricity.
Groove processing: Use a milling machine or CNC lathe to process belt grooves (such as V-grooves, multi-wedge grooves), ensuring that the groove angle and depth meet the requirements.
Drilling: Process mounting holes or keyways to ensure the accuracy of matching with the shaft.
4. Heat treatment (optional)
Annealing: Eliminate casting stress and improve cutting performance (especially for ductile iron).
Surface quenching: Pulleys with high wear resistance requirements may have their groove surfaces quenched.
5. Dynamic balancing test (key step)
The pulleys used for high-speed transmission need to be dynamically balanced to eliminate the imbalance by adding or removing counterweights or removing weights to avoid vibration during operation.
6. Surface treatment and rust prevention
Spraying/plating: spray anti-rust paint, galvanizing or phosphating to improve corrosion resistance.
