EN-GJL-300 is a grade of grey cast iron, according to EN 1561-2011 standard
Chemical composition
– Carbon (C): 2.95-3.20
– Silicon (Si): 2.1-2.4
– Manganese (Mn): 0.55-0.75
– Sulfur (S): 0.04-0.07
– Phosphorus (P): 0.1-0.2
Mechanical properties
– Tensile strength (Rm): 300 MPa
– Hardness (RH=1): 200-240 HB
– Sample size: Rod diameter: 30 mm
Main uses: Manufacture castings that are subject to high bending stress and require high airtightness. Common application areas include the bed of heavy machine tools, gears, cams, crankshafts and cylinder blocks of large engines, etc. In addition, it is also suitable for high-pressure hydraulic cylinders, pump bodies, valve bodies, and parts that require surface quenching.
In terms of mechanical properties, the tensile strength of gray cast iron is not less than 700MPa, the conditional yield strength is not less than 420MPa, and the hardness is between 225~305HB. Although this material has high strength and good wear resistance, its casting performance is poor and requires artificial aging treatment
